Moving Beyond Intention with Nicole Shaffer

In this episode, Samm chats with Nicole Shaffer about taking those much needed steps beyond intention when it comes to work surrounding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Our organizations are being called to action. How do we as HR nurture and support these efforts in these organizations? How do we continue to learn and unlearn, when are asked to lead these efforts? 

 

About Nicole:


Nicole Shaffer is the Director of Her Traditions at York Traditions Bank, where she utilizes over 20 years of experience in communications and community building.  As the Director of Her Traditions, Nicole is responsible for developing and implementing the program’s strategic plan, which is carried out through strategic partnerships, various communications platforms, and the creation of educational materials and events.    

An active community advocate, Nicole currently serves on the Board for York City Dollars for Scholars, is the Chair for YWCA York’s Racial Justice Committee, and serves on the Confronting Racism Coalition Planning Committee, among numerous other community commitments.  Nicole is also a volunteer for Junior Achievement, where she has gone into local schools to teach the importance of resume creation, interview skills, understanding credit cards, and building a strong credit history.  

As a lifelong champion for women’s issues, Nicole is passionate about connecting women to opportunities to help them take charge of their financial future.
