The HRart Worker Book Club has finished reading The Mamba Mentality: How I Play by Kobe Bryant, Think Again by Adam Grant and Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hanh. Now we gather to talk about the real impact these very different books have had on our lives. Tune in and join us for part one of the finale of this season!

Karen Stone

Karen is a a York County, PA resident and serves as the Director, Outcomes & Assessment for Community Progress Council in York, PA. Karen has worked in non-profit program improvement, program evaluation and strategic planning for over 12 years and is passionate about data informed decision making and organizational development. Karen’s work has focused on centering social determinants of health in social service programming and using process improvement/planning frameworks to increase both employee/client engagement as well as community impact. When she isn’t working her non-profit day job, Karen serves on the Planning Committee for Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program, and stays busy raising chickens, training for a running event, or exploring the outdoors with her husband, young kids and pup.

About the Host

Samm Smeltzer

Samm is an HR Visionary and Medical Qigong Healer. In November 2021, she earned her Masters certification in Medical Qigong with Ted O’Brien at the East Coast Institute of Medical Qigong. As an HR Visionary, her decade-long pursuit of the missing elements for employee engagement within organizations led her down this path of merging Spirituality, Eastern Medicine and workplace wellness to create the potential for deep healing within our workplace cultures.

As a Medical Qigong Therapist, Samm’s clients come from a range of different backgrounds though she specializes in healing stress and burnout for professionals as well as coaching them back to their Connected Path. She is currently pursuing her doctoral certificate in Medical Qigong at the 3 Treasures School of Medical Qigong studying under Lisa VanOstrand.
